  Unforgettable1Experience2

When I was eight years of age, there happened a thing I can hardly forget. It was a cold and frosty3 morning . I took my cousin –a five-year-old boy–out to meet my papa who had been out to Taiyuan. We walked to the railway station, and waited for the train to come. One minute, two minutes until a whistle was heard–the train came at last. My father was on it. So I ran in a hurry and tried to find my papa, yet he was not on the train. I was disappointed4 .

Only at this moment did I think of my cousin, but where was he? I could’ t see him. I looked here and there. No, he was not to be found. I cried, and shouted out for him. Finally I grew hopeless. Tears began to run into my eyes. What could I do but go back home to tell mother that I had lost my dear good cousin? “Is he on the train or is he taken away by somebody? Oh Lord!”

Just when I cried, and was about to go home to tell mother about it. Out he came. I didn’t know from where. It was him dear little brother. I ran to him, and hugged5 him. This was an unforgettable experience for me.

He asked me to open my mouth, and began to use the tools in the plate. I felt uneasy4 at this time, for he took the tools in his hands and began to cure the tooth. He asked me to open the mouth, and stuck in something with a pointed front. He picked inside my mouth. I felt very painful. In a little while blood came from my mouth. What was worse, he took over the operating parts of the machine nearby to treat my tooth. I closed my eyes and felt something inside the mouth. Immediately a noise was heard followed by rubbing here and there. I was worried about my tongue inside, so Idid all to save my tongue. I was scared to death this time because he made my teeth ache all the time.

My lord, I felt lost and helpless, lying in that bed. All I could do was to obey. It felt like a weak lamb waiting for its fate. My heart was beating all the time. The next day after I was in the camp, I was excited and woke up early in the morning, and hurried to the playground. The first thing we were required to do was to read the OATHS crazily over and over again at the top of our voices. Everyone was supposed to yell as loudly as possible. Reading aloud made me realize it was a unique trip of my life. I must grasp every chance and challenge my limits and then surpass1 them. Only then did I find that I was full of confidence and courage which I had never had before.

The classes we had during the winter camp were really different from what I had expected. We learned English not only by listening to the teacher, but also by singing songs and playing games. In the afternoon, when some students felt tired and sleepy, the teacher asked us to sing a song. Most of us were interested in singing and one of the boys sang so well that we couldn’t help giving him a big hand2. The teacher said, “you’re lucky dogs, as you have a chance to learn English by singing”. But at first his word really made us all unhappy. How could he say we were dogs? With a smile, he went on to explain,”‘Lucky dogs’ means that you are all lucky.” Hearing this, we all burst into laughter. During the following days, the teacher did a good job in his teaching with the cooperation of all the students.

In the evening we went to the English Corner, where we could practice our spoken English with the foreign teachers, talking about our hobbies, cultures etc. What’s more, we had to pass a test, that is to say, everyone must blurt out3 thirty English sentences we learned in the day, otherwise we weren’t allowed to go to bed. Anyway, it was not very hard if you put your heart into it.

The most exciting moment arrived two days before the camp came to an end on February 18th. Li Yang, the founder of Crazy English, would give us lessons himself. He has an excellent voice. He speaks really good English and the lessons he gave were so interesting and lively that I would never forget.

How time flew! A week passed. It was a short time, but I enjoyed myself and learned a lot.I appreciate Crazy English verymuch. I’m sure that this unique trip will completely change my life.
